Add a Comment to a DRI
How to Add a Comment to a DRI
You can add comments to your design issues to communicate key information between the parties involved in the Design issue.
There are 2 types of comments you can add to a Design Issue.
Public Comments
Public comments are accessible and can be seen by any user who has access to the Design Issue.
Internal Comments
Internal comments are only accessible to the author and other users who belong to the same company as the author of that comment.
Add Common on Open DRI
Open the DRI.
Add your comment.
Click Add.
Add a Comment from Your Hotlist, Notification List or the Design Issue Register
To add a comment, open the Design Issue by clicking on it.
And then add your comment in the comment area.
You can set this comment to be a Public or Internal Comment.
Add a Comment from a Workflow
There are two ways to comment on a Design Review Issue.
The first is to:
Open the Issues tab
Click on the DRI# link which opens the DRI form.
Add your comment.
Add and attachment if required.
Click the Add button.
The Second is to:
Open the Issues tab.
Click on Show Comments, this will display the Comment area.
You can add a Public or Internal comment if this is configured.
Remember to click on the tick.
You can also add attachments by clicking on the paper clip icon.
When users type a comment in the DRI overlay, click on the tick to save their comment and then choose a workflow action (like Approve or Reject), that comment is automatically saved as part of that users review.
The system:
Saves the comment to the thread
Updates the workflow status
Logs both actions under the same timestamp and user in history/audit views
What | What It Means |
|---|---|
Comment saved automatically with status change | Any typed comment is saved as part of the workflow action when clicked |
No popup interruption | No confirmation popup is shown - comment is silently attached on submit |
Empty comment = no entry | If no text is entered, status updates without saving a comment |
