Markup Tools and Their Use

When viewing a document in the publication space, the markup tools will only be visible if you have upload permissions to that folder.

When viewing a document in publication space (and you are an uploader to that folder) or when reviewing a document during a workflow there is a grey toolbar at the bottom. Select the markup tool icon as indicated by the red square.

A new markup toolbar will appear.

Adding a markup during a workflow will always create a MU Rev (i.e. MU = markup revision).

Adding a markup outside of a workflow may or may not create an MU Rev depending on what has been configured for your project. (Refer here regarding MU Rev Settings)

Most of the markup tools are self explanatory, however for some there are links to other pages within help that will show you how to use the tool.

Stamps in Downloaded view

It is important to know that when a the drawing with stamp on it is downloaded to pdf, it will not have the stamp on the downloaded file. Other mark ups will be seen apart from the stamps and pins.  In order to keep the stamp on downloaded view, click button for 'Export PDF/Publish Consolidated Revision' as shown below :

Automatic Markup Revision Creation for Pins and Stamps

When a pin or stamp is added as a markup, a new MU revision is automatically created. This ensures that all markups are consistently tracked and managed.

  • MU revisions are included in print PDFs / publish CM rev tools.

  • Functionality is available for markups within a workflow and standalone markup use (outside of a workflow).

Move Annotations

Annotations can now be moved by clicking on Move button on the mark up toolbar.

Once clicked all annotations become movable. You can move them to the required new position and click on Save.

You can also right-click on any individual mark up / annotation and select move on the context menu that is shown.

Only Annotations Applicable to the Current Revision are Shown by Default

By default, we now only show the annotations applicable to the revision you are reviewing.

  • Open Design Review Issues will still be shown.

  • Added a tick box option to Show All so the user can see all annotations from previous revisions.

Display Markups Made During a Workflow from Workflow Preview Screen

In a workflow, when you click the document number from the preview screen, you will be able to see the relevant markups made on that workflow (as long as you have access to them).

Modified Date for Document is Updated when Markups are Added

The modified date column is updated when a markup revision is uploaded as shown below
