Folder History

What is Recorded in the History

Folder history records:

  • when a folder is moved

  • permission changes

  • when Auto Distribute or Workflow settings are updated

  • User field changes

  • Security updates

Where to Find Folder History

  1. Navigate to Publication Space.

  2. Select the folder you want to edit.

  3. Click on the settings button on the folder toolbar.

What It Means

History log for Auto Distribute changes

Any updates made in the Auto Distribute tab now generate a visible history entry

History log for Workflow tab edits

Changes to folder-level workflows (e.g. adding/removing steps) are logged

Includes user + timestamp

History shows who made the change and when

Consistent format

Log entries match the format used for other folder history updates

How the History is Captured

  • When users:

    • Edit auto-distribution settings (e.g. add/remove users or groups)

    • Modify the workflow tab (e.g. change routing, steps, or rules)

    • Change or update a user field

    • Update permissions, security or move a folder

  • A new entry is added to the folder’s History tab with:

    • The user name

    • The timestamp

    • A consistent format aligned with existing history logs
