Custom Field For Date Of Completion

This is a step by step guide on how to create and configure custom date user field that will be used to determine days preceding completion status in State user field. This is the user field shows the date document will be marked as completed.

In State user field this will need to be selected ‘Check the date based on’ menu, to calculate how many days are left before completion date and assigning it a colour signal.

When user is uploading document, he/she will need to input this date, to be able to see the colour signals in publication space.

Step 1 : Go to Publication Space -> Settings -> Numbering → Click 'Add Custom Field' button. Click 'Select type' drop down and choose 'Date'

Note: Before creating it, it is worth checking if this user field already exists in the project by clicking on the Show Excluded and Show Retired buttons. If it exists you can restore or enable it.

Step 2: Give it a code and description. Examples are: 'Due date' 'Forecast close date' 'Completion date' 'Approval date' 'Submission date' etc.

Step 3. Select this user field in State user field where it says 'Check the date based on'

Once configured, this is how to use it :

When user is uploading documents, put in the custom date user field (which is 'Submission Date' in this example) by clicking 'Bulk edit'
