How to Push Groups

1. Go to Configure > Utilities.

2. Click Push Groups. 

3. Select from the drop down the groups to be pushed to another project/s.

4. Select from the drop down the project/s you want to push the groups to. 

Only the projects that you have access to will appear in the drop down list. 

5. Click Process when you are ready.

The Process for Copying Groups is as Follows

  • Groups that do not exist get created.
  • Users within these groups which exist on the destination project are added as members.
  • Users who do not exist are not copied.

Groups that already exist, and are editable by the current user

  • Updates the description, multiple, enumerate.
  • Adds new members from the source project.
  • Does not remove additional members in the destination project.

BEFORE PUSHING

If you are pushing a group from Project A to Project B, BEFORE pushing ensure that the person with the editable rights on Project A already belongs in Project B (otherwise add them).

If the above criteria is not met then on pushing the group to Project B, the group will be created but will be locked down and not editable by anyone.  This is because the user or groups with the editable rights in Project A did not exist in Project B at time of pushing.

USER ID must be the same in both projects.  If the user ID for Project A is RIB-AM but in Project B RIBCX-AM DO NOT push the group.  In this scenario the group needs to be created individually in Project B.
