Lock and Unlock a Budget

You can lock down an entire budget so that no more changed can be made.

If the Closed option is unavailable, please talk to your administrator to give you rights to close a budget.

To Lock Down a Budget

1. Click respond on the budget you want to lock down.

2. Change the status to the Closed Status type.

You will not be able to make changes to the budget line items.

To Unlock a Budget

To unlock a budget you must have the administration rights to do so. You must be a Project and Budget Administrator.

1. Click respond on the budget you want to unlock.

2. Change the status to the Open Status type.

Budget Lines Items

As long as the budget is open and there is no contract or adjustments linked to a budget line item, you are able to edit it. As soon as a contract is issued or adjustments are made against a budget line item, that row is locked and can no longer be edited.

In the example below, line item 001 architectural can be edited as there are no adjustments or contract against it. Whereas 002 structural and 003 civil have proposed adjustments linked and 004 electrical has a contract linked so therefore cannot be edited.
