24.12 - Mobile Release
The roll out to customers will commence from 19 December 2024. Here's what you can look forward to:
Thumbnail View in New List View for Forms
The new List View for forms now includes a Show Thumbnails option, allowing users to visualise form attachments directly within the list.
Key Features:
Enable Thumbnails:
A new Show Thumbnails option has been added to the ... menu in the List View.
When selected, the list refreshes and displays thumbnails for form attachments.
Attachment-Based Thumbnails:
The thumbnail displays the first attachment on the form (validated for image formats only).
Supported image formats include common file types such as JPG and PNG.
Full-Screen Image Viewer:
Clicking on a thumbnail opens a higher-resolution version in full-screen mode.
When the user taps on the thumbnail it will start the download of the high res file. This may take a few seconds depending on your internet connection.
If multiple images are attached, users can scroll through them by swiping left or right.
Fallback for Non-Image Attachments:
If no valid image file is available for a form, the thumbnail section will display “No Image to Display”.
Creating Favourites
When saving a list of forms as a favourite with Show Thumbnails enabled:
The system will download both the thumbnail.
If a lower-resolution file is not available, the system defaults to downloading the original high-resolution image, as per the current behaviour.
Form List View - Action My Company / All Tabs
The Form List View has been enhanced with new tabs, and improved styling to provide a more user-friendly and efficient interface to quickly access the relevant forms to you.
Key Features:
New Tabs for Improved Navigation:
For Action My Company: Displays open or outstanding forms assigned to the user’s company.
All: Shows all forms, including closed forms (accessible to users within the logged in users company)
The default tab is For Action My Company, providing immediate access to the user’s actionable items.
Status colours are now displayed based on the status category, making it easier to identify form statuses at a glance.
Loading the Form List defaults to the For Action My Company tab.
Switching tabs dynamically updates the list to show:
Streamlined Search Experience:
The Search bar is now always visible on the screen for quick access.
Keyword searches automatically search all fields within forms, including the title.
It also highlights keywords matched in the title.
Additional Updates:
The Plan View has been moved to the menu for better organisation.
Additional menu options have been added as per the mock-up, including streamlined navigation to Plan View and other functionalities.
Users can toggle Show Thumbnails to display thumbnails of the first attachment on each form, enhancing visual identification.
New Attachment and Upload Options for Forms
Forms now includes updated icons and streamlined attachment functionalities, allowing users to easily upload and manage attachments directly from any tab.
Key Features:
New Icons Added:
Camera Icon: Opens the camera directly for instant photo capture.
Paper Clip Icon: Provides options to upload from the photo library or documents.
… Menu Icon: Additional menu options as configured.
Attachment Options for New Forms:
Details Tab: The attachment option is now displayed on the Details Tab, as per the updated design.
Other Tabs:
Camera icon, Paper clip icon, and … menu are accessible on all other tabs for consistent functionality.
Attachment Options for Existing Forms:
The Camera, Paper Clip, and … menu icons are also available on all tabs for existing forms, ensuring parity between new and existing form workflows.
Upload Workflow
Users can upload attachments, photos, or documents from any tab using the respective icons.
Once the upload is completed, the user is automatically directed to the Attachment Tab to review the uploaded files in the List View.
Attachment types - Added file storage option
The attachment upload feature has been enhanced to ensure consistent access to Document/File Storage across forms and attachment list fields, supporting a seamless experience on mobile and tablet devices.
Key Features:
Document/File Storage Option Always Available:
When users upload attachments, the Document/File Storage option is now always displayed as a default choice.
Applies to:
Forms: Users can upload attachments directly from their device’s file storage.
Attachment List User Field: Available on lists to upload and associate files easily.
Swipe Actions for Forms in Mobile UI
The new swipe-right action functionality introduces quick access to key features for managing forms directly in the mobile user interface.
Key Features:
Swipe Right Actions:
Swiping right on a form row reveals two options:
Add Attachment: Opens the upload attachment options.
Workflow Buttons: Displays the available workflow buttons for the form based on its current status.
Attachment Handling:
If a user selects Add Attachment:
A message displays, indicating the attachment is being uploaded.
The attachment is successfully added to the form
Workflow Button Actions:
If a user selects a Workflow Button:
The form’s status is updated accordingly.
The list is refreshed to reflect the new status.
History on the form is updated and recorded as normal.
Updated Favourites Page for Mobile UI
The Favourites Page has been enhanced to provide better organisation, improved navigation, and quick access to starred and saved searches.
Key Features:
New Page Structure:
The Favourites Page now has two sections:
Starred: For searches marked as favourites by the user.
Saved Searches: Includes all saved searches created on mobile or downloaded from the web.
Both the saved and starred searches will be organised in alphabetical order
Starred Search Management:
Users can move a saved search to the Starred section by tapping the Star Icon.
Search Bar for Quick Filtering:
A Search Bar is now always visible at the top of the page.
Allows quick filtering by matching any text displayed in saved searches from mobile or web.
Search and Sync Features:
Tapping on a search triggers the download of that search.
Sync Option: Allows users to check for and download updates to saved searches, ensuring the latest information is available.
