iTWOcx provides you with the ability to change the value of your variation even after a Claim has been made against it.

To allow for changes to the variation amount you must change the configuration of the Variation document type.

How to configure a Variation so it's value can be changed after a claim

1. Go to Configure

2. Document types

3. Select the Variation document type you wish to update

4. On the right-hand screen scroll to this section

5. Tick the "Can edit the value of Variations after a Claim"

6.

Changing the value of a variation after a Claim

1. After the above option has been turned on you can edit the value of the Variation by responding to it

2. You can then edit the value

Please note that you can only change the value of the  Variation to an amount greater than its current claimed amount

For eg: the Value of your variation is $5000 and you have claimed $2000 against this Variation, you can change the Variation to any value, greater or equal to $2000.

You cannot change the value to anything less than $2000.

In the example below there is a Variation for $2300.

A claim has been made against it for $1500.

When trying to change the Variation amount to 1000, the system shows you the Warning/Error message.

What happens after I change the value of the Variation

Any changes made to the amount of the Variation will take effect from that point onwards.

For eg, changing the value of the variation will not be reflected on any existing Claims or Payment Certificates.

Only Claims made after the update will reflect the new Variation amount.
