Mapping user fields allow you to assign a Project Contact to a select option. The mapped user field in the defects module is used to configure dashboard actions and sharing.

To set up a mapped user field follow the steps below.

1. Access the Defects configure page by clicking on Configure in the main menu. Click on Document Types, then click on defect form code DEF.

 

2. On the form configuration page go to the user field section and click on Edit USR.

3. On the User Field edit page click on the code or create the user field you wish to map options for e.g. TRADE

4. Tick the box "Is mapping user field". Then click update.

5. Click Options to begin adding contacts to the Trade option.

6. When the trade options display, click the contacts selector next to the trade you wish to update.

7. When the Contacts select box open, choose the company from the dropdown. When the company contacts list displays, choose the person who will be the main contact for defects for this company. Once done, click OK.

8. When the trade options window displays, click on Update Option to save changes.

 

9.  Follow the steps above to continue adding contacts for all trades on your project. N.B. Make sure to click update each time a contact is added.
