Control Sheets - Salaries and Wages
These settings are linked to the Global Company. This means that all the rates, positions, regions etc are linked to the Global Company and therefore all your projects will be updated with this information.
Where to Find Control Sheet Configuration
Go into configure > Modules > Contract Admin
The contract admin configuration page will display on the right hand side of the screen. Control Sheets are at the bottom of this window.
Create a Salaries and / or Wages Control Sheet
Click on the control sheets blue button.
Click on add new record.
Give your salaries or wages control sheet a name.
Choose the type as salaries or wages.
Tick the checkbox if you want your control sheet to be reportable.
Edit the Settings
Click on settings and tick the checkboxes as required.
Start and Finish Date and Default Allocations
Once the show default allocations is ticked the control sheet will display:
A Start Date column (Month - Year selection)
A Finish Date column (Month - Year selection)
A row for default allocation % (Default 100%)
When both the start and finish dates are entered, the applicable months will be pre-allocated as per the default allocation.
Allow Comments
When allow comments is ticked the section at the bottom of the salaries control sheet will have an text user field for comments.
The area indicated by the red square in the image below is default on all salaries control sheets.
Show Budget Entry
When show budget entry is ticked at the bottom of your control sheet there will be a section to enter your original budget and approved variations.
Configure Global Company Information

Setting Up Positions, Rates, Allowance Rates
These options are linked to the Global Company, which means these options are available for selection in all salaries or wages control sheets on all projects where salaries and wages control sheets are configured.
Positions
Click on the Positions button for Salaries or Wages.
Click on + Add new record.
Keep adding positions, when finished click on back to settings.
Salaries - Rates
Click on the Rates button.
Click on + Add new record.
Enter the region and type. Type can be Specific or Blended.
The region for your project chosen here:
determines which which rates and allowances you will be able to choose from when using your control sheet. For example: If New South Wales is the projects region then when using the control sheet you will only be able to select from rates and allowances that are for the New South Wales region.
Use Specific when you have a specific user that will be assigned to the position.
Use Blended when you know you need a certain position, but the specific user has not been picked / assigned yet. This means you don’t fill in the name and you put an average rate for that position in weekly rate.
Select the position from the drop down.
Enter the Employee ID.
Enter the email address registered for that user on RIB CX.
Enter the user’s name.
Enter the Year.
Enter the users Weekly Rate.
When using the Salaries or Wages control sheets you will need to have 3 unique Positions added in order for the monthly forecast to calculate.
Wages - Position Rates
Click on the Position Rates button.
Click on + Add new record.
Enter the region and type. Type can be Specific or Blended.
The region for your project chosen here:
determines which which rates and allowances you will be able to choose from when using your control sheet. For example: If New South Wales is the projects region then when using the control sheet you will only be able to select from rates and allowances that are for the New South Wales region.
Select the position from the drop down.
Enter the hours per week.
Enter the Year.
Enter the users Weekly Rate.
Salaries - Allowance Rates
These allowance rates are applicable for salaries control sheets only. At least one Control Sheet Allowance (refer here https://ribcx.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/cxKB/pages/23201549/Control+Sheets+-+Configuration#Set-Up-Control-Sheet-Allowances) for Salaries needs to be configured in order for the Allowance Rates button to show.
Now that the Allowance Types have been created we can create the Salaries Allowance Rates.
Click on Allowance Rates.
Select Region.
Select the Allowance.
Type the year that this allowance is applicable for.
Type in the weekly rate.
Wages - Allowance Rates
These allowance rates are applicable for salaries control sheets only. At least one Control Sheet Allowance (refer here https://ribcx.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/cxKB/pages/23201549/Control+Sheets+-+Configuration#Set-Up-Control-Sheet-Allowances) for Salaries needs to be configured in order for the Allowance Rates button to show.
Now that the Allowance Types have been created we can create the Salaries Allowance Rates.
Click on Allowance Rates.
Select Region.
Select the Allowance.
Type the year that this allowance is applicable for.
Type in the weekly rate.
Wages - Responsibility Rates
Click on Responsibility Rates.
Enter the region.
Enter the responsibility. There are only 3 options here: None, R1 and R2.
Enter the year.
Enter the weekly rate.
Wages - Project Value Rates
Click on project value rates.
Select the region.
Enter the min project value.
Enter the max project value.
Enter the year.
Enter the hourly rate.
Wages - Height Rates
Click on the height rates button.
Select the region.
Enter the min height.
Enter the max height.
Enter the year.
Enter the hourly rate.
Import Excel File to Populate Position, Responsibility, Project Value and Heights
Click on any of the blue buttons highlighted by the red square.
Click on Excel Import.
Click download Excel template.
The Excel template has 4 tabs: Position, Responsibility, Project Value and Height.
Complete the tab you want to import.
Click on the blue button of the rates you want to import e.g. Project Value.
Drag and drop or select files to import.
Click Next.
If successful a summary will appear telling you how many items you imported, how many were updated and how many were ignored.
Click Finish.
Errors Importing Excel Spreadsheet
If there is an issue with the content of your input spreadsheet CX will display an error message like the one below. What this message is saying:
there are 20 issues detected
the Excel file cannot be uploaded
what the errors are, in this case the region is not right.
Click back to edit your spreadsheet.
To rectify the above example:
Review how the regions have been entered into CX. NSW was entered as New South Wales.
Adjust the spreadsheet to have New South Wales instead of NSW.
Save your spreadsheet.
Drag and drop or select files to import.
Click Next.
Update / Save Configuration Changes
Always and Regularly Click Update at the Bottom of the Contracts Admin Configuration page.
