By default when a document is downloaded, RIB CX downloads the filename it was originally uploaded as. This will download the document with it's default name (i.e. name at the time of upload).
You can change this by going to Publication Space > Settings > Numbering.
When you change this to Document Number [ Revision ] Title.extension, it will download the document with the filename of doc# [revision] title .extension
As an example :
If you have this option selected...
And if you download a file A1038 shown below...
Then the downloaded file would be named as below...
A1038 is the Document Number
B, is the Revision
Level 38 Floor Plan is the Title
.PDF is .Extension
You can also customise the file name of the documents downloaded from publication space with :
Once either of these options are selected, you must pick from a list of text fields in the publication drop menu in the file name. In our example we have used text user field 'Alt Doc#'
Step by Step Example :
When you configure any of the custom text options, in this case 'Custom Text Field [Revision].extension' then...
Configuration is now complete.
As a user:
When document is uploaded user will be able to add custom text in Alt Doc# user field
When upload is complete you see the Alt Doc # appear with the custom text file name that was added by the user:
When you download it, it will appear with the setting that is configured : Custom Text Field [Revision].extension → SideDoor#5 [A].pdf
